"A canvas has no limits. The studio celebrates the artist's voice and welcomes experimentation. If I finish working on a piece and my hands are completely clean, then I haven't fully expressed myself as an artist."
Art isn't soley an aesthetic matter of appealing to the eyes. Artists synthesize their experiences into something unique. As Picasso once said, “Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot, others transform a yellow spot into the sun.”
Anton was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in a home nurtured by art. Prior to taking lessons, at age 3 he brought some of his school art home to show to his parents, who noticed that Anton's style deviated from the type of art one would expect from a child. Anton's parents helped establish his art foundation by sending him to the XinSheng Wang Art School. Propelling his career at an early stage, Anton started oil painting at age 7 with his mentor. Under the guidance of Mr. Wang, Anton has developed skills in both painting and drawing while gradually composing a style of his own. Mr. Wang’s experience with traditional art has been a valuable asset to Anton's learning process, which involves both impressionistic and contemporary art. As of now, Mr. Wang has earned global recognition for his art - a unique fusion of East and West influences that continues to thrive.
Many other mentors have been very influential throughout Anton's career as an artist. He would like to thank Mrs. Landin, Mrs. Levermann, Mr. Stockman, Mr. Hickerson, and Mrs. Reedy for their outstanding teaching that has shaped his artist profile today. Their rigorous, intensive curriculums have benefitted Anton a lot and allowed him to grow as an artist. School projects, Anton believes, added a new dimension to his artistic approach and really complement his traditional, impressionistic style by introducing a new, artistic elements that are incorporated in many aspects of his work today. Thus, Anton enjoys realism, expressionism, impressionism and much more-everything that encourges him to become a better and more versatile artist.
18 years old, Anton is currently a senior at William P. Clements High School. As a young artist, Anton has earned top recognition in local, state and national competitions while participating in artist organizations. Over the years, he has cultivated his own style - a synthesis of impressionism and contemporary fine art - that has distinguished him as an emerging artist. In college, Anton hopes to continue enhancing his artistic skills by studying visual arts at Columbia University and aspires to become an established artist in the near future.
None of Anton's achievements would be possible without the support of loving parents. Both have provided tremendous support for his art-oriented future and have always been aesthetes themselves, appreciating art as much passion as Anton.
Aside from painting, Anton advocates for the use of art as a helping hand and believes in the importance of a visual arts education. Just recently, Anton started a service learning project at his local middle school to teach and promote the arts. Through this initiative, he has conducted research on the benefits of a visual arts education and shared this knowledge with the community. His passion for art also radiates throughout his school's National Art Honors Society, of which he is President. As a philanthropist and instructor, Anton has witnessed the impact of his community initiatives. In addition to his artistic endeavors, Anton is an avid learner of Spanish language and culture, having traveled to Ecuador as an American Youth Ambassador through a youth leadership program. Anton also enjoys basketball and fitness as part of his multifaceted lifestyle.
Currently Anton is a professional member of Contemporary Fine Art International, signature member of Artists of Texas, and an associate member of the American Impressionist Society.
